Help desk technician - IT support

Salary : $65,024 - 68,398 per year

Requirements :

• Proven experience in IT support or help desk roles, specifically in desktop support and technical troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with VPNs, firewalls, LANs, and network troubleshooting methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira, or BMC Remedy.
• Strong understanding of computer hardware components and software troubleshooting techniques.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical issues to non-technical users.
• Experience assisting remote users via help desk tools is advantageous.

Responsibilities :

Provide technical assistance for desktop and laptop computers, peripherals, and networking devices.

Diagnose and resolve software issues related to operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and applications like Microsoft Office.

Assist users with VPN configurations, firewall setups, and local area network (LAN) connectivity challenges.

Utilize ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy, and other ticketing systems to document incidents and monitor the progression of issue resolutions.

Support maintenance, upgrades, and replacements of computer hardware.

Resolve software troubleshooting matters concerning operating systems and applications.

Configure and support network devices, including firewalls and LAN setups.

Communicate effectively with end-users to identify issues and offer clear solutions.

Stay updated on current technology trends and help implement new tools or procedures when necessary.
