Our Purpose

At Deloitte, we are driven to inspire and help our people, organization, communities, and country to thrive. Our Purpose is to build a better future by accelerating and expanding access to knowledge. Purpose defines who we are and gives us a reason to exist as an organization.

By living our Purpose, we will make an impact that matters.

So what’s next?! We are here to help. At Deloitte, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of client work, while leveraging a diverse and powerful network to solve our clients’ most pressing concerns and complex challenges. Are you up for the challenge of leading at every level, developing a global network of colleagues, and embracing endless opportunity? If so, Deloitte is the place for you.

What will your typical day look like?

The Assurance practice’s value statement, or more simply, why we exist, is to “Build and elevate trust to help create a more resilient and sustainable tomorrow.”

Within the Assurance practice, IT Audit & Assurance seeks to elevate Trust, Integrity and Confidence in Canadian organizations by Assuring and Advising on IT and emerging technology risks to help our clients achieve regulatory, internal and extended enterprise requirements and maximize their impact.

Within the IT Audit & Assurance (IT A&A) practice, you can expect to have a dynamic and exciting role that is full of challenges and opportunities to grow. You’ll develop and grow your skills through your work on client engagements. We perform audits of general IT controls as part of financial statement audits, and third-party assurance (such as SOC 1 and SOC 2 audits). A typical day might involve working with your team to assess technology processes and identifying areas of risk. You might then work with a client to execute an audit plan that addresses those risks and ensures compliance with the audit objectives. You could be involved in conducting fieldwork, which may include interviews with clients, reviewing documentation, and testing controls. This is where your analytical and problem-solving skills come into play, as you work to identify potential issues. You may also be responsible for drafting audit findings and discussing issues with management, which requires strong communication skills. You’ll hone your skills through plenty of on-the-job learning, coaching and support.

We welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about controls, audit methodologies, business and IT operations and IT risk. While not mandatory, this role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience while working towards a CPA, CIA, or CISA designation. Our CPA program, Deloitte CPA Advantage, is recognized across Canada and is a leading program that helps CPA candidates with proprietary learning materials, personalized coaching, financial support and a professional designation cash bonus.

About the teams

Our teams make a commitment to each other to foster a collaborative and supportive environment with quality, professional development, apprenticeship, mentorship, and wellness at the forefront of team delivery. Our commitment to helping each other grow and develop is strong and intentional.

At Deloitte, your career path is flexible. You will support organizations of all sizes and in different industries to help them structure business transactions and perform better. Your initial role will provide you with a variety of experiences. You will work strategically with your team members to develop an understanding of the firm’s business and the clients you are serving. You will support organizations in different industries of all sizes to help them perform better and adapt to an ever-evolving future.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

In these roles, the expected qualifications are:

  • Demonstrated leader, who takes initiative, in and out of the work environment by utilizing interpersonal and team-building skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills, flexibility, humility, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Creative thinker, who’s excited by innovation and embraces change. Curious and committed to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Actively pursuing or holding a CPA designation is an asset, but not required.
  • Preferred areas of academic study background: Business/Commerce/Accounting/, Engineering/Computer Science or other related fields

Quebec office locations: We require basic English language skills to meet the needs of our clients. In the context of mandates, you could work for clients with activities outside of Quebec and where the first language is English.

Total Rewards

The salary range for this position is $48,000 - $58,700 and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program. Deloitte is fair and competitive when it comes to the salaries of our people. We regularly benchmark across a variety of positions, industries, sectors, targets, and levels. Our approach is grounded on recognizing people’s unique strengths and contributions and rewarding the value that they deliver.

Our Total Rewards Package extends well beyond traditional compensation and benefit programs and is designed to recognize employee contributions, encourage personal wellness, and support firm growth. Along with a competitive base salary and variable pay opportunities, we offer a wide array of initiatives that differentiate us as a people-first organization. Some representative examples include: flexible work arrangements and a hybrid work structure.

Our promise to our people: Deloitte is where potential comes to life

Some guide teams, some change culture, some build essential expertise. We offer opportunities and experiences that support your continuing growth as a leader.

Have as many careers as you want.

We are uniquely able to offer you new challenges and roles – and prepare you for them. We bring together people with unique experiences and talents, and we are the place to develop a lasting network of friends, peers, and mentors.
