The Position:
Summit Search Group has been retained by our client on the recruitment of their next Director of E-Commerce. This senior leadership role is responsible for shaping and advancing the organization’s digital commerce presence, with a focus on sustainable revenue growth, customer experience, and operational effectiveness. The position plays a central role in defining how digital channels contribute to broader business objectives, balancing strategic vision with hands‑on leadership.
The role requires a strong understanding of how customers engage across digital touchpoints and how insights, experimentation, and collaboration can be leveraged to improve performance at scale. Success depends on close partnership with cross‑functional teams spanning marketing, technology, merchandising, logistics, and customer experience, as well as the ability to lead and develop high‑performing teams in a fast‑evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
Define and evolve the long‑term vision and strategy for e‑commerce and digital revenue channels.
Lead ongoing optimization of the digital experience, including site functionality, content, and conversion performance.
Oversee digital marketing efforts across paid and organic channels to drive traffic, engagement, and growth.
Establish a culture of testing, experimentation, and continuous improvement grounded in customer‑centric thinking.
Translate data and analytics into actionable insights that inform priorities, investments, and performance improvements.
Partner with internal stakeholders to align digital initiatives with broader business goals and omni‑channel strategies.
Build, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary e‑commerce team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, sharing insights and recommendations with senior leadership.
Qualifications
Post‑secondary education in Business Administration, Commerce, or Marketing with extensive experience in e‑commerce and digital marketing.
Deep understanding of digital marketing channels, analytics platforms, and performance measurement frameworks.
Demonstrated experience leading complex initiatives, managing teams, and delivering business results.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to balance data‑driven decision‑making and strategic judgement.
