Property Accountant - 3 months

Our client, one of Ontario's largest Real Estate organizations involved in Commercial, Industrial and Residential Real Estate is looking for a Property Accountant to join their Finance team for a 3-Month contract assignment. This role will be in office 5 days a week located in Vaughan.

The Property Accountant will be responsible for the following:

• Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, and variance analyses for commercial properties.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
• Perform CAM (Common Area Maintenance) and Tax recovery calculations, reconciliations, and adjustments.
• Utilize Yardi ERP to maintain property accounting records, generate reports, and analyze financial data.
• Assist with year-end audit processes, working closely with auditors and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, lease agreements, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with property managers, finance teams, and senior leadership to optimize financial performance

TMGCT

• Minimum of 4 years of commercial property accounting experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in Newstar (preferred) and Yardi required.
• Advanced Excel skills required
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with CAM & Tax recoveries.
• Experience in managing year-end accounting processes and audits.
• CPA designation (or in progress) is preferred but not required.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
