The Opportunity

SAIT is looking for a Software Asset Management (SAM) Analyst to join our Information Technology Services team! This role is responsible for ensuring that SAITs software assets are properly managed and utilized in full compliance with vendor contracts.

You will recommend support and maintain SAM policies and procedures support software procurement and manage a comprehensive inventory of software across the institution.

You will be responsible for tracking and updating license data monitoring usage trends and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the SAM database while identifying opportunities to optimize license utilization. Additionally you will play a key role in compliance audits and collaborate with stakeholders to maintain an effective SAM program at SAIT.

The Role

• Maintain accurate software inventory records including license keys entitlements and site licensing information.
• Track analyze and verify software usage against license agreements to ensure compliance.
• Conduct software license audits and reconcile deployed instances with vendor contracts including key dates costs and stakeholders.
• Monitor software expirations provide reports and support renewals and decommissioning processes.
• Analyze usage data to identify opportunities for cost optimization license harvesting and improved utilization.
• Assist with software procurement budget planning and forecasting for academic and institutional needs.
• Generate reports to communicate SAM activities compliance status and optimization opportunities.
• Assess hardware prerequisites for software and coordinate requirements with ITS teams.
• Manage software-related service tickets to ensure timely resolution.
• Utilize SAM tools and processes to automate data collection storage and reporting.
• Liaise with vendors to obtain software information application files and support license compliance.

Salary Range : $70000 - $80000

Paid Leave : 4 Weeks Vacation / 14 Flex Days per year

Hours Per Week : 37.5
