Financial Analyst

Role Summary:

Our client is seeking a Financial Analyst to become an impactful member of their financial reporting team. In your role, you will be responsible for the month/quarter/year-end close process. You will oversee various full-cycle accounting activities and also liaise with auditors to address any inquiries. What You Will Be Doing:

• Manage the MQY-end financial closing process
• Prepare branch and head office journal entries and account reconciliations
• Complete reporting packages for various Canadian and US companies
• Create and distribute internal invoices for Canadian and US companies
• Conduct account analysis and determine root cause for variances
• Support the annual budget process by making monthly updates and working with regions as required
• Respond to queries from internal and external auditors on sample selections

Success Criteria & Deliverables:

• Ability to complete month-end close independently after 3 months
• Strong relationships built with team members and controllers within the organization

What We Need From You:

• 5+ years of experience in financial analysis and reporting
• Knowledge and experience with IFRS standards
• Full cycle accounting experience, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Audit and controls experience, including external audit preparation and SOX compliance
• CPA designation
• Previous experience with public ownership structure and Oracle or similar systems
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables
• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Experience in the manufacturing and distribution industries is preferred
