Recreation Supervisor

Whitby, Ontario, Canada

The Village of Taunton Mills located in Whitby, Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a Full‑Time Recreation Supervisor to join our Village.

Posting closes December 4th at 4 : 00pm.

Responsibilities

Hold a diploma or degree in recreation / leisure studies and / or gerontology from a community college or university

Work every other weekend and rotate on‑call as needed

Lead and support a team with hands‑on training, coaching and supervision

Display a caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families and team members

Qualifications

Experience with shift scheduling, department spending and budget

Skills collaborating with multi‑disciplinary teams to support a holistic recreational program

Experience facilitating group activities and programs

Experience auditing and evaluating documentation capturing resident participation engagement and holistic wellbeing in order to identify where programs can be improved to support the development of recreation

Exceptional time management skills and ability to work in collaboration with a team

Support and embrace our resident‑centred social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of customer service to our residents

Knowledge of the five domains in therapeutic recreation that contribute to an individual’s health

Knowledge of recreational therapy practices, methods, techniques and opportunities to improve resident well‑being and holistic health
