Job descriptionMaintain a comprehensive health and safety program, policies and procedures that align with regulatory standards; coordinate the implementation and ongoing maintenance of ISO 45001 Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards Investigate workplace incidents, near misses and accidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions and risk mitigation strategies to reduce exposure to hazards Perform regular Health and Safety, Environmental and Energy audits and analyze performance metrics, prepare reports and present findings to managers and make recommendations to improve performance Issue monthly safety talks and lead industrial hygiene assessments and sampling; conduct routine job assessments relating to Health and Safety (including ergonomics); Environmental and Energy Support training initiatives (may include creating materials and delivery of training) relating to Health and Safety, Environmental and Energy initiatives Contribute to the achievement of world class status and corporate savings by minimizing electricity use, environmental impacts and occupational injuries and illnesses Implement and administer standardized Health & Safety, Environmental and Energy processes to ensure compliance to Federal, Provincial and Local regulations as well as Corporate Policies and Procedures Focus on implementing ISO 50001 and 14001 with the support of corporate specialists and plant staff Coordinate all regulatory issues and communication with the EHS Manager Participate in new and modified equipment programs from the concept stage through delivery to ensure that Health and Safety, Environmental and Energy design specifications and regulations are included (PHSR, SMI-105 etc.) Chair JHSC committee Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Safety, Engineering, Science or related field Minimum of 5 years of Health & Safety, Environmental, Engineering or related experience in a manufacturing / automotive environment Strong understanding of Federal, State, Provincial and Local regulations and requirements Willingness to work on any shift and additional hours as required Effective written and verbal communication skills Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite and / or other software $60,000 - $80,000 / year depending on experience Competitive comprehensive benefit plan including health, group RRSP with a company match, company lease programs, etc.
