About the Opportunity
A Public Sector client is seeking a SharePoint Online Designer on a temporary basis to support a surge in digital transformation initiatives. This role plays a direct part in modernizing internal communications and collaboration platforms.
The successful candidate will contribute to the design, rebuild, and enhancement of SharePoint Online sites that support bilingual operations, accessibility standards, and secure information management. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role for someone who thrives in structured environments and enjoys building clean, intuitive digital experiences that scale across large organizations.
Duties include but are not limited to :
Scope of Work
- Rebuilding the OJAG Communications site to support bilingual functionality (English / French) using best practices for language toggling and navigation
- Improving site structure and user experience by refining existing pages, creating new pages, configuring features such as workflow and as required, and implementing design enhancements aligned with OJAG branding and accessibility standards
Ensuring compliance with security, accessibility (WCAG 2.1), and bilingualism requirements
Tasks
Discovery & Planning
Review current OJAG SharePoint structure and identify gaps in bilingual support and governanceDocument requirements for bilingual toggle functionality and news site separationProvide a proposed site architecture and navigation plan
Site Rebuild & Configuration
Rebuild the OJAG Communications site with bilingual navigation and content toggleConfigure language variations or alternate approaches (e.g., separate language sites with linked navigation)Apply OJAG branding and ensure accessibility compliance
News Site Migration
Create a dedicated site for OJAG News PostsMigrate existing News Posts, including workflow, to the new siteConfigure permissions to restrict editing rights on the main page
Enhancements & Page Development
Improve existing pages for clarity and usabilityBuild additional pages as requested (e.g., resources, FAQs, team directories)Implement web parts and out-of-the-box features to enhance functionality
Testing & Quality Assurance
Validate bilingual functionality and navigationTest permissions and governance settingsEnsure mobile responsiveness and accessibility compliance
About You
The successful candidate will have the following :
Post-secondary education in IT, digital design, information management, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experienceA minimum of one year of experience within the past five years working with the Microsoft 365 Suite, including SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and OutlookA minimum of one year of experience within the past five years designing, configuring, and customizing SharePoint Online sites, including site architecture, navigation, and permissions managementExperience implementing bilingual SharePoint structures, including English and French content areas and navigation mechanismsExperience with content migration, site restructuring, and governance modelsExperience improving user experience through page design, web parts configuration, and accessibility compliance (WCAG 2.1)English EssentialRequires a valid Reliability Status
