About the Position

The successful candidate will participate in a wide variety of projects and join our dedicated team of professionals, working in a multidisciplinary team environment to support our clients in the mining and power & water industries. The ideal candidate will be proactive, motivated, and ready to learn as well as contribute to our knowledge sharing culture. This position includes opportunities for domestic and international travel through fieldwork assignments.

Responsibilities for the position may include the following:

• Conducting site investigations, such as installing monitoring wells, pumping wells, vibrating wire piezometers, and packer testing
• Groundwater sampling and water quality assessments
• Characterizing baseline groundwater conditions
• Estimating groundwater inflows to open pits, underground mines, and seepage analyses
• Numerical groundwater modelling
• Reporting to support impact assessments, feasibility studies, and mine water management
• Working in the consulting industry and dealing directly with clients

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Hydrogeology, Geology or Geological Engineering
• Must have interest working with multi-disciplinary teams in the mining, hydropower, or water infrastructure sectors.
• Relevant hydrogeological work experience is an asset but not required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Valid BC driver’s license.

Pay and Benefits

The estimated base pay range for this position is $76,000 to $85,000 CAD. The salary offered will be dependent on relevant knowledge, experience, and skill level. KP’s total compensation and benefits also includes the following:
