Role Purpose

As a Mobile Architect, you will lead the design and architecture of Tangerine’s mobile banking applications across multiple platforms (Android and iOS). You will drive technical strategy, set standards, and ensure the delivery of scalable, secure, and high-quality mobile solutions that impact our customers. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor developers, fostering innovation and excellence.

Key Accountabilities

• Mobile Architecture & Strategy: Define and own the mobile application architecture, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and security across Android and iOS platforms.
• Technical Leadership: Serve as the technical authority for mobile development, guiding teams on best practices, emerging technologies, and architectural decisions.
• Code Quality & Standards: Establish and enforce coding standards, conduct architecture and code reviews, and ensure adherence to performance and reliability benchmarks.
• Mentorship & Coaching: Mentor senior and junior mobile developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
• Collaboration: Partner with Product, Design, QA, Backend, and DevOps teams to deliver seamless, end-to-end mobile solutions.
• Performance Optimization: Oversee performance tuning, security hardening, and scalability improvements for mobile applications.
• Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends, evaluate new tools and frameworks, and drive adoption of innovative solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience: 8+ years of professional mobile development experience, including significant experience architecting and delivering complex mobile applications, preferably for both Android and iOS.
• Technical Expertise:
• Deep proficiency in Kotlin and Swift
• Strong understanding of Android and iOS frameworks, components, and design and architectural patterns (MVVM, MVI, MVP, VIPER, etc.).
• Experience with RESTful APIs, third-party integrations, and mobile security best practices.
• Familiarity with Google’s Material Design and Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines.
• Proficiency with Android Studio, Xcode, Gradle, and version control (Git).
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines for mobile.
• Architecture Skills: Proven track record in designing scalable, modular, and maintainable mobile architectures.
• Agile Methodologies: Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments, including sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives.
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead, influence, and collaborate in a fast-paced team setting.
