We are looking to add a driven, detail-oriented IT Support Specialist to our team.
The IT Support Specialist is an integral part of the Internal IT team, supporting Charter's staff to make effective use of its internal infrastructure, services, and systems. The IT Support Specialist will primarily serve the business by onboarding, equipping, supporting, and offboarding Charter staff throughout their day-to-day business. A key component of this role is to provide a direct customer interface, working with IT users from within Charter, supporting them with their specific IT needs. Strong communication skills and a passion for customer success is critical in this role.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience :
- IT Diploma or Degree, or equivalent experience in Desktop support / administration
- Experience with Microsoft desktop and OS environments is a must
- Strong awareness of the importance of Security Policy and Process
- Installation, management and troubleshooting of Windows PC infrastructure, Apple Mac / iOS devices, and Android devices
- Understanding of Network Services including LAN, WLAN, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, VPN
- Application awareness of applications such as Microsoft 365, Cisco Webex Collaboration Software, Filemaker Pro and a variety of other on premises and cloud-based applications
- Working knowledge and experience of IT Infrastructure, Operating Systems, Cloud services, and Applications
- Understanding of the roles of networking hardware, specifically switches, routers, firewalls and wireless access points considered a strong asset
- Desire to obtain and hold industry and vendor certifications such as Microsoft, VMware, NetApp, Cisco and Juniper certificates. Current certifications are not mandatory, but it is expected the candidate will obtain what is necessary as part of professional development
- Understanding of Microsoft Windows Server, Azure, Active Directory, Intune and Group Policy would be a benefit
- Knowledge of Cisco UCS Servers, VMware, Cisco and Juniper Networking, and NetApp Storage equipment is beneficial
- Ability to establish strong working relationships and to excel in a fast-paced environment
- Time management, organizational skills, and excellent communication skills are greatly desired
- Possess outstanding attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to follow through on issues until resolved
- Efficient problem-solving skills able to analyze and provide solutions to incidents
- Strong interpersonal communications (Phone, Email, WebEx, In-Person) with ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and written to technical and business personnel
- Ability to work well within a remotely dispersed team environment
- Willingness to learn new systems, products, and solutions, as needed
- Ability to identify, document and recommend solutions to problems accurately
- A successful criminal record check
