A unique new opportunity for a temporary, full-time Coordinator, Operations Support & Infrastructure to join our Engineer & Operations team. This position is based in our Works Yard.

This position will address critical service delivery gaps in customer service, maintenance management, asset management, business analytics, and administrative support during a period of significant technological transformation. Working in close collaboration with the Information Services (IS) department, the Coordinator leads the department’s administration of and improvements to its call centre and work order system, acts as the department lead in initiatives to develop and implement a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), supports asset management planning and reporting, and coordinates process improvements across CMMS, GIS, and CRM platforms. The role also provides leadership in customer service delivery, staff training, and data governance, while acting as a liaison between Operations, IS, and Engineering teams. By streamlining workflows, enhancing data integrity, and supporting strategic alignment, the position ensures operational continuity and advances the department’s goals for efficient, data‑driven service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Operations Customer Service function and administrative functions for the Public Works Yard.
  • Identifies service gaps and service improvement opportunities, makes recommendations, and implements changes to customer service, maintenance management, and asset management systems, processes, and data.
  • Directs and supervises the work of customer service facing staff within the Public Works Yard.
  • With the support of IS, acts as the Engineering & Operations department’s lead in the development of infrastructure maintenance management record keeping activities.
  • Prepares reports, supporting documents, and delivers presentations related to maintenance management, asset management, overall asset system conditions, and customer service.
  • Oversees the provision of support and training for CMMS and other software within the Engineering & Operations department with IS support as required.
  • Supports / coordinates the development of asset management planning for the Engineering & Operations department.
  • Collaborates with IS to design, develop, implement, and maintain GIS data for the purposes of supporting operational, planning needs and process improvements of the Engineering & Operations department.

Basic Qualifications

  • Diploma in Business Administration, GIS, or Finance
  • Three to five years of related experience within a customer service area including coordination of solid waste and recycling programs
  • Solid knowledge and experience in business and data analysis, asset systems, municipal infrastructure planning preferably within a municipal government setting
  • Good understanding of the various services of a municipality
  • Proficiency in using standard office, customer service, maintenance management software.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Independent decision-making and creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a wide variety of internal and external customers to resolve issues
  • Class 5 Drivers License
  • Preferred

  • Asset Management Certification or
  • Certifications in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or
  • Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
