Duties and Responsibilities :

Payroll :

  • Process payroll transaction using Workday payroll system
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure payroll is processed accurately biweekly. This includes but is not limited to reviewing timecards, making all payroll adjustments, processing final settlements, leave adjustments, processing ROE’s.
  • Perform Special / Off Cycle payroll as per required
  • Submit RRSP & TFSA remittances / reports to the benefit provider after each payroll cycle
  • Manage employees’ enrollments / changes / terminations in the benefit program
  • Update payroll account mappings to ensure that all employees payroll / benefits are charged to the correct GL code
  • Post all payroll and bonus Journal Entries and month end accruals
  • Prepare monthly payroll analysis report to explain payroll variances
  • Work with payroll vendor for T4 balancing and dispatching T4 to all employees before due date
  • Assist with YE audit for Payroll enquires
  • Perform testing & validation for Workday changes as request by Corporate
  • File annual WSIB returns with relevant authorities
  • Communicate with CRA on all payroll remittances issues / queries including employees ROE’s, HST / QST, etc.
  • Complete RL-1 & other Quebec tax form

Accounting :

  • Prepare Commercial and Clinical sales revenue forecast files for sales calls
  • Run AR aging reports
  • Prepare & file monthly HST & QST returns
  • Update monthly headcount report for Canada
  • Assist in month end closing process and variance analysis
  • Assist with cash application when required
  • Assist with YE audit for accounting enquires as required
  • Coordinate with Purchaser for ordering Office & Warehouse Supplies
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Manager / Supervisor.
  • Required :

  • Post-secondary education
  • Previous payroll experience is preferred with Workday.
  • Accounting experience in the pharmaceutical or packaged goods industry is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) to interact with both internal / external clients
  • Excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office (intermediate Excel), ERP (ie. JDE / SAP, Oracle)
  • Excellent time management and great attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Sound accounting knowledge and practical experience
  • Self-motivated, ability to multitask, work independently and with minimal direction.
  • Strong team player
  • Large payroll platform experience, such as Workday, ADP or Ceridian is a strong asset
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules.
