The City of Brooks requires one Parks Maintenance III in the Parks Services Department.

Job Details & Responsibilities:

As our Parks Maintenance III you will be responsible for performing the day to day operation and maintenance of all parks, pathways, sports fields, cemeteries and any other related parks amenities under the department's area of responsibility. You will operate the following equipment: chainsaw, front end loaders, mowers, hand tools, bucket truck and snow removal equipment.

Requirements:

• Level III Completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent;Minimum ofone year of experience in parks operations or municipal parks environment, horticulture, golf course or landscaping,
  Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with Q-Endorsement;
  Pesticide Applicator, CSA Playground, Fall Protection, Flag Person, Confined Space, Standard First Aid, WHMIS, Ground Disturbance, and Parks & Sport Fields Operator Level 2 Certificates;CSA Playground Certificate or Pesticide Applicator Certificate;
  Willingness to obtain Class 3 Driver’s License with Q-Endorsement; Clean driver’s abstract;
  Certificates for Chainsaw Safety and Cutting Techniques Training, Confined Space and Ground Disturbance would be considered assets;

Compensation & Benefits:

• The City of Brooks offers a competitive salary and benefits package with this position falling within the scope of the Collective Agreement between the City of Brooks and the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local .
• The salary range for this position is $30.26 to $33.15 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. Regular working hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. This position may include shifts in the evenings, weekends, and overtime as required. The Collective Agreement including wages can be found online at
