Compliance Engineer
High Tech Genesis is hiring a Compliance Engineer in
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
to join our innovative design services team.
About the Role
You will collaborate with cross‑functional engineering and product teams to plan and conduct testing activities that demonstrate compliance with EMC, safety, and regulatory requirements. In this role, you will coordinate with external laboratories and certification agencies, provide support to internal teams on customer questions and documentation, and contribute to proposals or regulatory submissions related to product compliance. You will also assist in managing product certification and market access activities across regions and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and conduct compliance testing activities for EMC, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with external labs and certification agencies to execute testing, review results, and obtain reports and approvals.
Support internal teams by addressing customer questions, preparing documentation, and contributing to proposals or regulatory submissions.
Assist in managing product certification and market access activities across regions and regulatory frameworks.
Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of experience as a Compliance Engineer.
Demonstrated experience with product safety and electromagnetic compliance testing (e.g., IEC / UL 62368‑1, FCC Part 15, CISPR 32, CISPR 35, Taiwan / CNS 13438 / CISPR 22, ICES‑003, BT GS7).
Solid understanding of EMC fundamentals, system‑level design practices, and verification methods for compliance.
Ability to review hardware designs and provide practical recommendations to enhance product safety, reliability, and regulatory performance.
Proficiency in identifying and resolving complex electrical and EMC‑related issues in prototype and production environments.
Hands‑on experience conducting and analyzing conducted and radiated emissions measurements.
Knowledge of general reliability and environmental qualification standards for electronic products.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with design, test, and manufacturing teams.
Minimal travel to the USA.
