Job Summary :
This position reports directly to the Sr. Engineering Manager and is responsible for leading Project Engineering Team within the Carmeuse Systems group. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to, planning, directing, controlling, and evaluating activities within the project engineering group. He / she is responsible for recruiting personnel, overseeing the development and maintenance of staff competence, through driving our core behaviours of collaboration, honest feedback, ownership and passion.
Responsibilities & Duties :
- Supporting project engineering team in growth and development.
- Consulting and negotiating with active clients to explain proposals for change and
present engineering reports and findings
Attending client meetings, and project review meetings as needed to support work in progress.Assigning, co-ordinating and reviewing the work within the department.Overseeing document & drawing reviews, specification reviewsLiaising with relevant professional staff, including engineers, architects, fabricators, contractors, and other regulatory bodies.Ensuring that the product is fully and correctly defined and documentedVendor evaluationDeveloping and Implementing Policies, Standards and Procedures for the Project Engineering Team and Technical Work Performed (Identifying areas for improvement & Researching best practices)Mentoring and Coaching Project Engineering teamComplying to ISO 9001 requirements, reviewing and updating processes on a yearly basis.Ensuring that relevant drawings are reviewed, verified and validated according to company's quality procedureEnsure and enforce compliance to all company, client and legislated safety policies and proceduresAny additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.Job Qualifications :
Minimum 5 years’ related experienceExperience Leading teams of direct reports in a hybrid work environment across multiple locations.Bachelor of Engineering, (mechanical preferred) Professional Engineer an assetMust have integrity, self-awareness, courage, respect, compassion, and resilience.Must be learning agile and flex their influence while communicating the vision, showing gratitude, and collaborating effectively.Analytical, problem solver with practical approachHigh attention to detail, combined with strong ability to see the big pictureStrong technical understanding of engineering systems and processEffective delegation / distribution of workload; professional development / growth of team membersStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Knowledge of CAD, 3D modelling software (Solidworks), and project / scheduling softwareGood communication skillsApproachableKnowledge :
