Responsibilities
- Client Advisory & Tax Planning
- Lead corporate and personal tax planning engagements, including remuneration strategies, succession planning, estate planning and corporate reorganizations.
- Compliance & Reporting
- Oversee preparation and review of corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns, GST/HST and payroll compliance, year‑end files and compilation financial statements (NTR/CSRS 4200).
- Manage engagement budgets and workflow processes to ensure timely delivery.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise, mentor, and support development of staff accountants.
- Review work for quality and accuracy, offering timely and constructive feedback.
- Foster a collaborative and high‑performing team environment.
- Technical Research & Innovation
- Stay informed on changes to tax legislation and accounting standards.
- Lead or contribute to internal knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- 4-7 years of progressive experience in public accounting, focusing on owner‑managed/private businesses.
- Strong technical expertise in Canadian corporate and personal tax, corporate reorganizations, estate and succession planning.
- Proven experience managing client engagements and leading teams.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with clients and team members.
