Corporate Accountant

We are looking for a skilled Corporate Accountant to join our team in Don Mills, Ontario. This permanent position provides the opportunity to contribute to a variety of accounting functions. Reporting directly to the Controller, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial processes.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed balance sheets and income statements to ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Conduct monthly account reconciliations and balance sub-ledgers to the general ledger.

• Perform bank reconciliations and manage inter-company account reconciliations.

• Process invoices, including coding expense reports and entering data into the system.

• Communicate effectively with vendors to address billing inquiries or resolve discrepancies.

• Record receipts and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

• Analyze accounts and perform reconciliations as required.

• Manage credit card charge processing and oversee cheque cutting, wires, and electronic payments.

• Handle tax return preparation and support compliance requirements.

• Participate in additional projects or tasks as assigned by the Controller.

• At least 3+ years of experience in accounting, with a preference for real estate development.

• Proficiency in accounting software such as Yardi..

• Strong knowledge of construction management software is considered an asset.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in all tasks.

• Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Adept at managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.

• Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.
