Position Overview

Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. (ACSI) is a multi-disciplined construction company offering superior civil electrical and mechanical services including piping insulation scaffolding and module fabrication. ACSI is seekingElectrician RED SEAL Journeypersonswho will be integral to our projects success responsible for providing support and in-depth knowledge in the field relating to electrical matters a strong commitment to safety and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications to lay out work. Your expertise will support a range of activities which are critical to integrity of the electrical systems of the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Installing cable tray and conduit and terminating cable. Locating and installing equipment panels sensors and other control components and devices.
• Fabricate control panels wiring check-out.
• Responsible for laying out circuits set up breaker panels and junction boxes and install light fixtures and other electrical equipment.
• Ensure all electrical installations follow applicable regulations and trade practices.
• Install alter repair and maintain a wide range of electrical equipment for safe efficient and environmentally sound operation.
• Pull wire through conduits and cables through tray systems.
• Read and interpret drawings circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations.
• Splice join and connect wire to fixtures and components to form circuits.
• Install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment.
• Install replace and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment such as switches relays and circuit breaker panels.
• Test continuity of circuits using test equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of system and if need be replacing or repair following proper installation guidelines.
• Journeyperson will mentor apprentices respectfully and oversee their safety.

Requirements and Experience

• Valid Provincial Journeyperson Ticket with RED SEAL
• WHMIS 2015 certificate
• Fall Protection
• Elevated Work platform (MEWP)
• Experience as an Electrician in an industrial construction environment.
• Proven ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments.
• Must have a strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies.
• MUST be fluent in English both written and verbal.

Project: Red River WWTP

Location: 306 Highland Ave Winnipeg MB

Rate: $48.67 per hour

Overtime: as per Collective agreement

Schedule: 5x2 Monday - Friday *subject to change 6x1

Camp: N/A

Allowances: Yes as per Collective agreement
