The Village of Winston Parkhas an exciting opportunity for a Permanent Part Time Maintenance Aideto join their team.

• Status: Permanent Part-Time
• Location: 695 Block Line Road Kitchener

The hiring rate for this role is $21.53 per collective agreement/employee association agreement.

Shift Details:Days 8:00am - 4:00pm 30hrs biweekly alternate Mondays Fridays Saturdays Sundays

As a new Maintenance Team Member joining our Village Team you will:

• Be comfortable working at heights and with exposure to outside weather conditions and understand the physical expectations of maintenance work.
• Handle Residents personal items with care and respect.
• Communicate the nature of mechanical problems and possible solutions effectively with minimal supervision.
• Be comfortable lifting 15-25 lbs.
• Have general knowledge of carpentry plumbing electricity hot water heating systems and air exchange units.
• Possess the ability to deal with the fire alarm sprinkler systems call system and other emergency equipment for the Village.
• Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents families and team members
• Be willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Have exceptional time management skills and ability to work in collaboration with a team.
• Support and embrace our resident-centered social culture .

It would be an asset but not required if our new Maintenance team member has:

• Experience working in a Long-Term Care or Retirement Home setting.
• An awareness and understanding of infection control practices workplace hazardous materials and chemicals (WHMIS) as well as all relevant health and safety procedures.
• Skill in operating common hand and power tools.
