We are looking for experienced Security Officers to join our Mobile team! This team works throughout team across Nanaimo, Parksville, Ladysmith, Qualicum Beach, and Nanoose Bay but your shifts will start and end at the base site in Nanaimo. Your pay rate will start at $18.50 / hr and increase to $21 / hr after completing your training, and you will be working 8 to12 hour shifts depending on the assigned route.
In this role, your main objective is the prevention of criminal activity in Nanaimo and surrounding cities by conducting emergency responses to alarms, reporting security breaches and property damage, and directing unauthorized individuals to leave the premises. You will be driving a Paladin vehicle and also conducting foot patrols inside and outside of facilities, up and down stairs, and over uneven surfaces and terrains.
Requirements :
- Valid Class 7N or higher BC Driver's License and a clean driving abstract
- Availability to work 5 shifts a week including weekends
- Occupational First Aid Level 1 (OFA 1) certification is an asset; training will be provided to the successful candidates.
- Excellent customer service, professionalism, and communication
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office
- Post-secondary education in Criminology & Law Enforcement is an asset
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
Responsibilities :
Conduct regular patrols and surveillance of client facilities; provide access control as neededRespond to alarms, accident calls, and emergencies at client facilities within designated time framesEscalate and report issues to the Security Command Centre in a timely mannerDispatch and work with first responders (police / fire / ambulance)Write detailed incident reports for security incidents that occur during shiftBuild rapport with surrounding businesses to heighten the level of securityUse discretion when handling confidential informationHandle all incidents in a professional and calm demeanorOther duties as required to meet operational demands#NO1
