Job description

Unit Summary

The Surgery And Surgical Oncology service, within the Oncology , Critical Care & Palliative Care program and Juravinski Hospital, includes in-patient and ambulatory supports for gynecology oncology, plastic surgery, colorectal, hepatobiliary and general surgery. The service is supported by a full range of allied health, nursing, education and support staff.

Position Summary

The Clinical Leader for Surgery & Surgical Oncology works closely with the clinical manager to ensure alignment of unit based and ambulatory activity with program and corporate strategic goals. This includes enhancing the patient experience, supporting physicians, staff and volunteers, and taking a leadership role in solving problems and collaborating with stakeholders with a focus on long-term sustainable effectiveness.Schedule Work Hours

Monday to Friday ; days. Position goes until February 1, 2026.

Qualifications

1. Baccalaureate degree in one of the Health Disciplines preferred or a combination of other relevant academic background and experience

2. Recent (5-7 years) relevant clinical practice

3. Demonstrated leadership and management skills

4. Demonstrated knowledge & skills in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)

5. Demonstrated excellence in communication, team-building and the ability to initiate and model positive change

6. Evidence of commitment to continuous education through pursuit of undergraduate studies or comparable educational endeavours

7. Membership in the relevant Professional College / Association

8.
