Technical Support Advisor

Responsibilities

• Working as part of the GFL Technical team assists with various duties as assigned.
• Liaise with Sales, customer service and the GFL facilities to manage incoming and outgoing waste streams
• Referencing Safety Data Sheets, Lab analytical or waste description assign corresponding Ontario waste class code and proper TDG (UN number)
• Interpret customer chemical inventory spreadsheets and group compatible waste together to be lab packed either by the client or a GFL technician. Assign appropriate waste class code and TDG
• If so delegated by the client, assist with managing their Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority (RPRA) accounts.
• Ensure the proper UN rated containers are used for all wastes.
• Ensure all bulk wastes, (liquid or solid) are transported in the appropriate truck.
• Direct incoming waste to the appropriate GFL facility for disposal.
• Price all incoming waste streams ensuring GFL profitability margins are satisfied
• When necessary work with external 3rd party disposal services to price waste streams that must go outside of GFL
• Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.
• Maintain a clean appearance at all times
• Abide by the rules and requirements while on customer or GFL property.
• Assist with additional tasks that may be assigned by management.
