Maintenance Assistant

As a Maintenance Assistant at Ashlynn Grange Care Home, you will be responsible for ensuring all checks are complete and a safe environment for residents, team members and visitors whilst maintaining a high quality of service within the home.

Ashlynn Grange is an exceptional 153-bed care home in Peterborough. The home prides itself on the surrounding gardens that grow flowers and a variety of different vegetables.

The level of care at Ashlynn Grange is exceptional, and all staff love to keep residents entertained with a full programme of activities and live performances on our outdoor stage. Our newly refurbished café is available to our residents and their visitors, serving a variety of fresh tea, coffee and cakes daily.

About the role :

The Maintenance Assistant will work closely with the Maintenance Operative to manage and ensure the safe and pleasant environment for all residents and employees, working closely with wider teams to provide strong leadership and inspiration ensuring the highest service standards are achieved.

Salary : £11.44 per hour.

Shift Pattern :

35 hours per week, worked on a rota basis from Monday to Sunday.

Home Location :

Bretton Gate, Peterborough, PE3 9UZ.

Key Duties & Responsibilities :

• Ensure that the decoration of the home is to the highest standard and snagging items dealt with in a timely manner.
• Ensure that all minor repairs and plumbing are fixed within a timely manner.
• Responsible for the maintenance of the refuse area and the removal of clinical waste and rubbish from the home.
• Ensure that all electrical equipment and boiler house is maintained and repaired if required.
• Overall responsibility for carrying out weekly, monthly and annual tests of the equipment and systems within the home.
