Position Overview

Reporting to the NC Programming Supervisor, the CNC Programmer / setup machinist is responsible to create the NC Programs for lathe machines and prepare the set up for the production run. To achieve that, the employee will need to interpret mechanical drawings, create new, improve and update NC programs using Mastercam, and support other programmers and CNC Machinists.

• Read / understand engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Design complex CNC Lathe programs with optimal production efficiency levels including usage of sub-spindle and live tooling.
• Incorporate the fixture design into the CNC program.
• Complete machine set up and validation for the production run.
• Source, request quotes, and order needed tools to manufacture required parts.
• Support the organization in the development of safe manufacturing processes.
• Set up all tools and fixture on the CNC lathe. Run first parts and make all necessary adjustments so operators can continue production without issue.
