This position is responsible for a variety of day-to-day bookkeeping and basic accounting functions that provide the necessary support to the accounting service division. This position works as part of the larger client service team and is expected to provide a professional, courteous and efficient service to all clients utilizing the accounting services provided by the Administration Centre for Sport, Culture and Recreation.

Location : Regina (One) / Regina or Saskatoon (One)
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide general accounting duties for client base
- Process all types of financial transactions (invoices, bank deposits, cheques, financial statements, CRA & sales tax remittances, etc.) on a timely basis.
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness and compliance with policies and procedures and accounting standards for not-for-profits.
- Communicate as needed with clients to collect appropriate information needed to process transactions.
- Ensure that all formal procedures are followed to safeguard the financial assets of the client organizations.
- Maintain filing systems, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and other miscellaneous client information.
- Report to Accounting Services Supervisor regarding the effectiveness of current processes, policies, procedures, and reporting.
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following areas : Previous accounting / data entry experience Knowledge of the provincial sport delivery system an asset Experience in the non-profit sector an asset Knowledge of sales taxes would be an assetDemonstrated skills in the following areas : Communication – verbal, written, and interpersonal ACCPAC (Sage 300), Microsoft Word and Excel Administration, organization, and time management with attention to detail Customer serviceDemonstrated abilities in the following areas : Self motivated and enthusiastic Effectively manage a variety of tasks and be able to adapt to unexpected interruptions and adjustments to priorities throughout the day Work with minimal supervision and contribute to a team environmentQualifications and Experience
Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting or equivalent education and / or trainingMinimum two years experience in a role that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties required for this positionWorking Conditions
