Our client is seeking a strong Financial Controller with a dynamic skillset to join their leadership team on a permanent, full-time basis. As the Controller, you will be responsible for managing the overall financial operations and for providing the senior leadership team and board of directors with ongoing accurate information and analysis. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in an entrepreneurial environment with a hands-on approach and must be comfortable managing a small team. Main responsibilities include:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations
• Manage cash flow, budgets, forecasts, monthly and annual reporting
• Work closely alongside the CEO while supervising the accounting team and ensuring accurate reporting, payments, and collections
• Maintain accounting system to generate monthly financial statements
• Manage external audits and applicable regulations and reporting
• Develop operational and control processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
• Manage insurance and risk assessments as they relate to the accounting function
• Liaise with various stakeholders and external support staff as required

Qualifications:
The main qualifications for this role include:

• Post-secondary education in finance and accounting
• Completed CPA designation strongly preferred
• Minimum 6+ years of progressive accounting related experience
• Previous supervisory experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Excel
