About the Position

Under the direction of the Crossing Guard Supervisor, the Crossing Guard is responsible for safely escorting pedestrians across roadways, at designated school crossings by monitoring traffic flow gaps, and adhering to regulations, policies and procedures. This position provides excellent customer service, and ensures safe crossing rules are communicated clearly, followed and reinforced as required.

• Responsible for safely escorting pedestrians across roadways at designated school crossings.
• Provides excellent customer service to pedestrians.
• Ensures safe crossing rules are communicated clearly and followed at all times.
• Adheres to regulations, policies and procedures as set out by the Ontario Traffic Act, Health and Safety Act, and the City of Welland.

Salary and Benefit Information

The hourly wage for this this part-time, unionized position is $22.29 (2025 rate). OMERS pension is available.
