The Professional Development (PD) Coordinator is responsible for collaborating closely with the PD Learning Specialists, Senior Manager, and Director, to organize and deliver a high-quality learning experience for our national curriculum programs and learning events and provides administrative support for PD department and team. The successful candidate will be the go-to expert with key educational technology tools, such as the LMS, webinar platforms, and more.

Major Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative event-management and logistics support for all PD programs, such as monitoring program schedules, drafting communications, liaising with speakers, and coordinating boardroom set-up and catering services.
  • Update and maintain PD calendar and reminder systems, task lists, and upcoming programs tracker.
  • Provide administrative support to PD team such as monitoring the PD mailbox and providing timely responses, assisting with CPD accreditation requests, coordinating program details through our learning management system, and updating PD intranet page.
  • Provide Director and Senior Manager administrative support such as tracking CPD compliance, submitting expenses, monthly credit card reconciliation, processing invoices for payment, provides budget support as needed and booking travel arrangements.
  • Research suitable venues for external events
  • Perform other duties as required.

Position Requirements

Education and Experience

Post-secondary education, preferably in Business Administration, Human Resources, English, Communications, or related field. Experience in learning and development, or in a law firm or professional services environment is an asset, but not required. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be acceptable.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organization skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, multi-priority environment; flexibility to handle regular interruptions and unexpected changes to workflow.
  • Excellent customer-service attitude with a positive, professional disposition.
  • A self-starter who is proactive, takes initiative and works independently with some supervision, but knows when to ask for help.
  • A team-player who can manage the peak times and proactively assist team during down times; is prompt and reliable at all times.
  • Solid proficiency in MS Office, and good technical savvy to quickly develop strong proficiency in LMS, learning delivery, website editing, project management and database tools once trained.

    We are currently working in a hybrid work arrangement, which includes a requirement to work primarily in the office and flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week.
