As an ELL teacher, you'll provide specialized instruction and support to students who are acquiring English as an additional language.
You'll create engaging lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each learner, focusing on developing their language proficiency, literacy skills, and cultural understanding.
Building rapport and fostering a supportive learning environment will be at the core of your practice, as you guide students towards academic success and integration into their new linguistic and cultural context.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Education (Elementary / Middle / Secondary) degree, or equivalent training.
A valid Teacher Regulation Branch Certificate, or in progress
A thorough understanding of the SIOP Model, CALLA, or Knowledge Framework is an asset.
Courses equal to 30 credits including 12 credits in linguistics (of which 6 credits shall relate to second language acquisition)
Plus 6 credits in ESL methodology and 6 credits in cross-culture education
Ability to understand and effectively carry out general oral and written instructions with minimum supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively using courtesy and tact in the explanation and exchange of information.
Ability to determine, judge and select an appropriate course of action within limits of established methods and procedures.

PLEASE NOTE
The starting annual salary for this School Teacher position ranges from $50,000 to $104,000, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
