Job Description :
Our client is an established and growing company in the food manufacturing space. They are looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring all accounting transactions are completed in accordance with Company and IFRS guidelines. The Senior Accountant will work with the Controller to ensure the collection and analysis of required information to prepare accurate and timely weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial summaries / statements. The Senior Accountant will also undertake specialized accounting / production related projects as needed.
Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant is as follows :
- Provide analyses and recommendation on timely and accurate account and bank reconciliation of monthly general ledger accounts.
- Ensures accurate recording of raw material receipt and inventory reconciliation on a daily and weekly basis.
- Maintains Capital Assets sub ledger and tracks / reports on all capital asset projects for review by the Controller and Management.
- Reconciles all General Ledger accounts, providing information and recommendations on any action required. Maintains standard costing files, ensuring data accuracy.
- As needed, prepares standard and adhoc Management reports for the Controller and / or SC Management review.
- Processes cash receipts and reconciles Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable sub ledgers.
- Assist the Controller in general accounting functions as needed and provides functional guidance to more junior Accounting group staff.

Job Requirements :
College diploma or University degree in business or accounting, with 5+ years of related accounting experience. Equivalent levels of education and experience may also apply. Accounting designation is desirable (CMA / CGA / CPA).Excellent oral communication and customer service skills in dealing with staff and customer representatives. Possesses strong problem-solving, analytical, and organization skills, with strong attention to detail on accounting and bookkeeping matters.Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.In-depth knowledge of ACCPAC accounting software.Apply
