Nanny Wanted - Part Time Position For Supervising A Neurodiverse Teen Girl (Adhd / Fasd). Experience Behavioral Management And De Escalation

Are you an enthusiastic, nurturing, compassionate, energetic woman with strong values, that’s would love to hang out with a teenage girl? Our family of 4 (including our little dog), lives in Dartmouth, NS. We are seeking a reliable and caring, loving person to provide part-time care for our neurodiverse teenage daughter (diagnosis ADHD & FASD).We are looking for someone to partner and establishing a relationship based on trust and reliability, where together, routines, goals and therapeutic strategies will be reinforced.

The primary responsibility will be supervising and monitoring our teen after school and / or at night / weekend depending of the situation, schedule will be established ahead of time. Other duties include : homework, supervising social media, and engaging in fun and educational activities (indoor and outdoor). Meals preparation and modeling and assisting our teen in light housekeeping, which are part of her responsibilities, will also be required. Accompanying / driving the child to medical or educational activities could entail. Additionally, pet care for our furry friend will be required.

If you are navigating higher education as a student of neurodiversity or have experience in childcare neurodivergent :

• Empathy and Emotional Intelligence : Ability to understand non-verbal cues and manage heightened and help with modeling emotional regulation.
• Behavioral Management : Knowledge of positive reinforcement, de-escalation techniques, and practicing routines or sensory processing differences to support children with ADHD & FASD.
• Certifications in CPR / First Aid not mandatory but nice to have!
• Background Check : Clean criminal record and vulnerable sector check.

This live-out position offers a competitive hourly rate of $20.00 / hour. Higher compensation when / if required to stay at night or on the weekend.
