Position Overview

The Activity / Recreation Worker promotes the overall quality of life for clients in health care facilities (hospitals, transitional care centres and personal care homes). The incumbent exercises a moderate level of initiative and independent judgment to determine work priorities, methods, and actions on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner consistent with the mission, vision and values of Southern Health‑Santé Sud.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and implement recreational and therapeutic activities for older adults.
• Adapt activities to meet the varied needs of clients, including those with cognitive impairment or other health conditions.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reports in accordance with policy.
• Ensure a safe, welcoming environment and adhere to all health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support client care and wellbeing.
