The incumbent will perform basic resident care tasks to meet resident care needs in accordance with centre policies, procedures and nursing standards.
Provides assistance in a manner that demonstrates the principles of appropriate choice, dignity, privacy, independence and individuality in accordance with programs goals, values and organizational policies and procedures.
Fulfills multi-skilled tasks such as assisting with food delivery, laundry, performing light housekeeping duties such as making beds, disposing of linen, maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of nursing units, supporting care, acceptance and related maintenance of both full and part time pets.
Attends and participates in team meetings, assisting in defining educational needs, program process, policy and procedure development, problem solving and solution finding, sharing educational material / information gathered at workshops, conferences, etc.
Performs other related duties as assigned / required.
Qualifications
Qualifications :
Registration with the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory is required. Must be able to read, write and speak fluently in the English language.
Two years of recent health care aide experience with the geriatric population and the chronically ill is preferred. Personal Competencies : Must be knowledgeable of methods of transfer and be capable of transferring and supporting residents of varying sizes and varying degrees of immobility.
Demonstrates awareness of accident and injury prevention; adheres to safe work practices and procedures and is responsible for maintaining self-wellness and reduced absenteeism.
Salary Range
$22.07 $26.04 per hour per AUPEAN Collective Agreement
