Job Description

Senior Electrical Engineer (Buildings) to provide technical leadership and deliver high-quality electrical designs for complex building projects.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
P.Eng. designation in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
Minimum of 10 years of relevant electrical design experience in a consulting environment.
Strong experience with commercial, institutional, and industrial building projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Understanding of the Ontario Building Code and Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
Knowledge of fire alarm, IT / communications, and security systems is an asset.
Excellent communication, organizational, and technical writing skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects independently with minimal supervision.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities :

Design electrical systems for buildings, including power distribution, standby power, and lighting systems.

Prepare and review drawings such as single-line diagrams, panel layouts, riser diagrams, voltage drop and fault current calculations.

Perform engineering calculations using industry-standard software and design codes.

Prepare and oversee detailed electrical drawings using AutoCAD and Revit in accordance with company standards.

Develop electrical specifications and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.

Coordinate with multi-disciplinary project teams, clients, and external stakeholders.

Conduct site visits, design reviews, and construction progress assessments.

Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, invoicing, and risk management.

Assist with proposal preparation, including scope definition, fee estimates, and schedules.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff and support business development efforts.
