Job Summary

As a member of the BGIS Sustainable Cleaning Solutions Team, you will be generally responsible for cleaning in a designated zone with an emphasis on quality control, health and safety, and striving to exceed client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean floors by sweeping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Dry / wet mop (wash / scrub) and polish hard surface floors, using handheld or automatic scrubbers where applicable.
• Strip and finish hard surface floors manually or with power equipment when required.
• Steam clean or shampoo carpets when required.
• Transport garbage from drop points to garbage bins or compactor.
• Transport maintenance machinery between floors and job sites.
• Clean and store equipment and machinery used.
• Clean glass areas requiring ladders, scaffolding or other extension equipment.
• Clean washroom floors, including stripping and finishing.
• Clean stairwells and elevator cabs where ladders are required.
• Load and unload supplies and replenish cleaning solutions.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Other duties that management may assign.
• Notify managers concerning major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Remove snow and debris from sidewalks, driveways, or parking areas using snowplows, snow blowers, snow shovels, or spread snow‑melting chemicals when required.
