Mechanical Designer II

Position Summary

What Youll Do As a Mechanical Designer II

• Apply internal procedures and external quality standards;
• Select and / or design parts or a subset of parts using a computer-aided design (CAO);
• Lead or participate in investigation and problem-solving activities;
• Obtain the technical specifications of their parts from suppliers and ensure that they meet the requirements of STERIS;
• Carry out the following technical drawings: parts or sub-assembly of parts plumbing electrical pneumatic workshop plans manufacturing plans assembly plans service plans illustrations;
• Design a portion of the system under the alignment of an engineer;
• Enter or provide required information in MRP and PLM systems: part creation product bill of materials engineering change requests etc.;
• Support production staff and suppliers when required;
• Make all the components of a prototype (doors pumps tanks cabinets plumbing pneumatics) and make the necessary adjustments to their installation / operation in accordance with verbal or written directives;
• Contribute to various continuous improvement initiatives within the department;
• Apply DFMA (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly) principles.

The Experience Skills and Abilities Needed

• DEC / Associate Degree in Mechanical engineering
• 6-9 years of relevant experience in a related field.
• Experience with use of PTC Creo (preferred)
• At ease preparing documentation using MS Word MS Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
• English 7/12 (Write mandatory Talk preferred)
