Utility Electric Meter Installer/Installateur de Compteurs

We are conducting electric meter upgrades in the Moncton / Bouctouche / Sackville / Shediac area for NB Power, and are hiring Full Time Temporary Bilingual Electric Meter Installers! Applicants need to be at least 18 years of age, hold a valid driver’s license and have a clean criminal and driving history.

Successful candidates will also need to be fluent in both English and French. Project is expected to run for approximately 9 months.

NO EXPERIENCE is required with paid training! If you consider yourself an independent worker and enjoy being outside, this job is for you!

All of our field staff are provided with :

• Safety gear including company boot (allowance), vests, glasses, etc.
• After the initial classroom training and field training (Paid hourly), employees will be transitioned to being paid on a piece work basis which allows most of our employees to earn in excess of $21 / hr.

Responsibilities :

This position is responsible for installing single phase electric meters by replacing an existing meter (change-out). The new meter and meter module are installed to automate the process of reading a meter for accurate consumption and billing.

Requirements :

• Valid driver’s license
• Must successfully pass pre-employment screenings : background check and driving record
• Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8 : 30am-4 : 30pm
• Must be able to walk up to 5-10 km per day
• Fluency in both English and French

Working Conditions and Hours :

• Day shift hours, Monday-Friday
• Outdoor work environment
• Little supervision to give you freedom to work independently and manage your own day

Knowledge and Abilities :

• Successfully complete the company’s training program and pass applicable written and field tests
• Learn and apply safety measure relating to motor vehicle operation and other field related matters
