Contract Manager – FCC Canada
FCC Group is an international leader in engineering and infrastructure headquartered in Spain with over a century of history. FCC Canada is involved in multiple projects in Ontario and British Columbia to improve public transportation infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for contracts, subcontracts, and risk management.
- Manage the commercial aspects on behalf of the consortium, including preparation, review, and negotiation of agreements.
- Identify and analyze potential commercial risks and liabilities associated with proposals, ongoing projects, and supplier agreements.
- Draft, amend, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including RFPs, RFQs, confidentiality agreements, pre‑bid agreements, purchase orders, and subcontracts.
- Interface with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders across technical, risk assessment, legal, cost estimating, insurance, bond, taxation, treasury, and finance functions.
- Prepare project‑specific contract administration manuals based on project templates and provide commercial support in contract administration, narrative preparation, entitlement documentation, and claims resolution.
- Act as the point of contact to the client for contractual matters and assist in the formation and administration of contracts with subcontractors.
- Assist project staff in the interpretation and practical application of contract documents and ensure flow‑down of prime contract terms to subcontracts and ongoing projects.
- Support the development and implementation of communication strategy with sponsors and public authorities, while addressing DB legal and commercial issues.
- Document significant events, maintain accurate issue files, and manage timely contractual correspondence and notices in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Supervise and provide support to administration project personnel, ensuring they are trained and competent to perform assigned tasks.
Qualifications
Post‑secondary education in engineering, marketing, law, or equivalent.10+ years of experience in industrial engineering, procurement, and construction industry.7+ years of project‑management, design‑build contracts in transit or infrastructure in Canada.Experience working in joint venture or alliance contract agreements is preferred.Demonstrated experience managing professional and administrative staff.Sound knowledge of construction planning, scheduling, and risk management.Job Requirements
Provide leadership to commercial staff and direct reports.Advanced knowledge of construction law, negotiation, and drafting major construction contracts.Solid understanding of public procurement processes and proposal processes.Knowledge of contract administration procedures and labor obligations.Working knowledge of CGC – Contract Administration modules.Strong written and verbal communication skills and advanced technical skills in MS Word, MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.Strong initiative and ability to work independently and collaborate successfully in a team environment.Superior organizational and project management skills with proven ability to manage multiple projects through to completion.Flexibility to accommodate varied hours that accompany a deadline‑driven environment.Conscientious with strong attention to detail.Work Environment
