Through the Health Care Provider Contract, Calian employs health‑care professionals across Canada who are integral to supporting the health and wellbeing of our military members.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Primary Care Physician to work at the Canadian Forces Base Shilo in Manitoba. Physicians serve as an essential member of the health‑care team, delivering comprehensive, multidisciplinary, collaborative primary health‑care services to Canadian Armed Forces members. Services include primary care, minor trauma care, health promotion, disease and injury prevention, rehabilitation, and support services. Full‑time hours are available.

Responsibilities

• Assess medical fitness for duty (pre‑ and post‑deployment, periodic health assessment, recruiting medicals, hazardous occupation assessments, post‑illness or injury).
• Diagnose and treat occupational and environmental injuries and illnesses, including rehabilitation.
• Establish Patient Medical Employment Limitations (MEL), approve and recommend sick leave, and assign / recommend changes in medical category per policy.
• Maintain occupational health records through the Electronic Health Record and other health‑record forms.
• Provide comprehensive primary medical care to patients with acute and chronic health conditions, including referrals to other providers when warranted.
