Overview

Get to know Okta Okta is The World’s Identity Company. We free everyone to safely use any technology, anywhere, on any device or app. Our flexible and neutral products, Okta Platform and Auth0 Platform, provide secure access, authentication, and automation, placing identity at the core of business security and growth.

At Okta, we celebrate a variety of perspectives and experiences. We are not looking for someone who checks every single box - we’re looking for lifelong learners and people who can make us better with their unique experiences. Join our team! We’re building a world where Identity belongs to you.

The Team

As a key leader in the business to business (B2B) product domain, you’ll be at the heart of one of our most critical business areas. You will be the dedicated design partner to leaders in Product Management and Engineering, collectively responsible for the vision, strategy, and execution of our enterprise identity solutions. Your team of talented designers will be tackling some of the toughest challenges in SaaS, translating complex concepts like enterprise federations, delegated administration, and multi-tenancy into intuitive, secure, and seamless experiences for our customers.

While your mission is anchored in the B2B domain, you won’t be leading in a silo. You'll also be a vital member of the Auth0 Design Leadership team, a dedicated group of leaders obsessed with building an exceptional organization. We are the force multipliers and culture builders for the entire design practice. This is your peer group for workshopping complex leadership challenges, sharing best practices, and ensuring that as we grow, we continue to be a world-class place for designers to thrive.

The Role

We are looking for a strategic and inspiring Product Design Manager to lead the team designing our B2B identity solutions. This is a critical leadership role where you'll guide a talented group of product designers who are tackling some of the toughest challenges in enterprise SaaS: making complex identity systems simple, secure, and scalable for our business customers.

You will be a true partner to your counterparts in Product Management and Engineering, driving the design vision and strategy for the B2B domain. You’ll be responsible for upping the level of design craft, mentoring your team, and fostering a culture of innovation and customer-centricity. If you are passionate about building high-performing teams and solving complex problems that have a massive impact, this is the role for you.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, Mentor, and Grow: You'll manage and coach a team of product designers, helping them grow their skills, do their best work, and advance in their careers. You will inspire your team to think about the real-world impact they're making in our customers' lives.
  • Drive the Design Vision: Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to create a compelling, long-term design vision for the B2B product portfolio that aligns with business goals and customer needs.
  • Elevate Design Quality: Champion design excellence and ensure your team delivers intuitive, high-quality, and polished experiences that make complex B2B scenarios feel effortless.
  • Be a Strategic Partner: Act as a key leader within the B2B domain, influencing the product roadmap by bringing a strong, user-centered design perspective. You'll help your peers and team see everything through a business and customer-centric lens, demonstrating the impact that simple and magical user experiences can have on key business outcomes.
  • Foster Collaboration: Lead and facilitate cross-team discussions, ensuring designers work effectively with partners across the company to solve problems and deliver on our most important initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • Extensive Design Experience: Impactful career in product design, with a strong portfolio of work in B2B SaaS, enterprise software, or developer tools.
  • Proven Design Leadership: A track record of mentoring and supporting designers through challenging cross-functional design problems. Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide designers in tackling complex, cross-functional design challenges. You have experience leading teams in a fast-paced, distributed environment.
  • Strategic & Systems-Oriented Thinker: You can take a large, ambiguous problem, turn it into a clear vision, and guide your team to make iterative, impactful progress.
  • Culture Champion & Enthusiast: A passionate culture builder who values collaboration, inclusivity, and fun. You don't take yourself too seriously and know how to maintain a high-performing yet lighthearted team environment.
  • Customer-Obsessed: You have a deep passion for understanding customer needs and can translate complex enterprise requirements into elegant, user-friendly solutions.
  • Excellent Collaborator and Communicator: You build strong relationships with cross-functional partners and can effectively influence peers and leadership. People know what your team is working on and why it matters.

Bonus Points

  • Deep experience with Identity and Access Management (CIAM), authentication, or security products.
  • Experience designing for developer-focused platforms, APIs, or other technical products.
  • You've managed other managers or have coached emerging leaders.
