ERM is hiring Field Technicians to provide support on heritage studies in Lac La Biche, Alberta . Successful candidates will conduct archaeological field surveys. This is full-time (60 hours / week), limited-term role for a duration of 12 days .
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Pedestrian survey and shovel testing of landforms identified as having high archaeological potential and recording archaeological sites.
Compliance with corporate Health, Safety, and Environment policy.
Performing other duties as assigned or required.
REQUIREMENTS :
High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to travel via off-road vehicles and walking long distances in all types of weather and terrain, observing, and identifying biophysical and heritage features, using a GPS, and taking notes and photographs.
Although not required, the preferred candidate(s) will have a valid driver license, and previous experience undertaking or assisting in environmental field studies.
Candidates must have an interest in the Environmental sector, and reliable transportation from home location to and from Lac La Biche to meet for field surveys.
Accommodations, meals, and transportation from Lac La Biche to the survey locations will be provided by ERM.
Environmental or Archaeological / Anthropological degree completed or in progress, valid First Aid, and other industry training certificates are also considered an asset.
CSA approved steel toed boots are required for field work. Other survey and personal protective equipment will be provided by ERM.
Ability to work 10-hour days, 60-hour week.
