Boeing Vancouver is looking for a motivated and hands-on Senior Software Developer in an agile development environment. The successful candidate will bring expertise, experience, passion, and leadership in building high-quality software.

The candidate should be a proactive learner of advancing technologies and will work closely with a high performing team to lead and direct technical activities while ensuring high coding standards are maintained.

The position will involve overseeing, designing and building software, developing pipeline solutions with Developers and DevOps Engineers on the team.

Position Responsibilities :

Lead and direct the technical design and implementation of complex, business critical features of the system

Ensure the software meets high quality coding standards and aligns to architectural guidance and best practices

Work closely with the Product Owner, Solutions Architect and Scrum Master to ensure that the software meets the business requirements

Work closely with Product Management and Product Owner to define deliverables and translate those into features

Actively contribute to continuous improvements throughout the processes, systems and team

Ensure commitments and deliverables meet high quality standards and committed timelines

Be an advocate for automation of processes and reduce complexity

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience) :

Must be legally able to work in Canada

Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods

Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data

8+ years of relevant experience as a Software Developer

Minimum 2 years' experience as a Dev Lead, Technical Lead, Team Lead, or similar role

Expert-level proficiency in at least one Object Oriented language (preferably Java, C#)

Preferred Qualifications (Education / Experience) :

Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent

Experience with cloud architecture, development and microservices (preferably Microsoft Azure)

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

Experience building resilient, elastic, and responsive systems

Experience with both traditional relational databases as well NoSQL databases

Strong knowledge of current QA, CI / CD, and DevOps best practices

Strong understanding of agile software development methodology, Scaled Agile methodology experience desirable

Fundamental knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns

Typical Education and Experience :

Education / experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.).

Relocation :

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
