What You’ll Do As Assistant Store Manager, you’ll help oversee the daily operations of our retail store and ensure that every customer leaves happy — and with great food in hand.

You’ll play a key role in creating an organized, efficient, and friendly environment that reflects VG Meats’ commitment to excellence.

Your main responsibilities include : Overseeing retail operations and supporting day-to-day leadership of the team.

Managing inventory, ordering, and supplier relationships for both wholesale and retail.

Merchandising — ensuring our displays are full, fresh, and inviting.

Providing exceptional customer service and helping the team do the same.

Leading the production crew — from meat cutters to prepared foods staff — to keep everything running smoothly.

Maintaining a clean, safe, and fully stocked store that customers love to shop in.

Understanding the financial levers that drive store performance and helping the team hit its goals.

Ensuring full compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health & safety standards.

What You Bring A high school diploma (required); post-secondary in culinary arts or butchery is a strong asset.

Supervisory experience with a proven ability to motivate and lead a team.

A strong understanding of food, retail, and customer experience.

Comfort and skill with knives, saws, grinders, slicers, and other meat-cutting tools.

Excellent communication and organization skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

A team-first mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.

Physical ability to stand, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a cold environment.

Food Handler’s and First Aid Certificates are an asset.

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
