Estimator / Project Coordinator

MatchBox is seeking an Estimator/Project Coordinator.

MatchBox Consulting Group is partnering with a well-capitalized developer and general contractor that owns a significant land base and builds its own projects. This is an opportunity to join a stable, growing group with long-term work, hands-on leadership, and a collaborative internal culture.

This role blends estimating, preconstruction support, and project coordination. It is ideal for someone with a few years of estimating experience who wants broader exposure and closer involvement in early project decision-making.

What you’ll be involved in

• Preparing and supporting cost estimates and budgets for multi-family wood-frame and high-rise residential projects

• Reviewing drawings and consultant information from early concept through tender

• Working closely with development, design, and construction teams on constructability and cost planning

• Supporting value engineering and cost-saving discussions

• Assisting with tendering, trade outreach, and bid reviews

• Helping prepare preconstruction packages, schedules, and internal reports

• Maintaining clear documentation through the preconstruction phase

• Supporting the transition from preconstruction into construction

What they’re looking for

• Approximately two to three years of experience in estimating or preconstruction

• Background with a general contractor or landowner developer

• Solid wood-frame experience, with high-rise exposure considered an asset

• Strong communication skills and comfort working with different personalities

• Practical mindset and good judgment, not just technical ability

• Proficiency with estimating and construction software such as Bluebeam or Procore

• Diploma or degree in construction management, building technology, quantity surveying, or a related field preferred
