Mechatronics Engineering Intern

Job Description

• This is a 1 year fixed term position. Who will you be working with? As the Mechatronics Engineering (Co-op), you will report to the Manager, Engineering and Products and work with a team of talented engineers and software developers responsible for designing, developing, and delivering our industry-leading transit electronics solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, operations, and customer support, to ensure our solutions meet the evolving needs of our customers. How will you make a difference? In this role, you will be responsible for designing, assembly, testing complex engineering solutions that may require Mechanical, Electrical and / or Software skillsets. These could be customer products or internal systems but both will need same level of attention to detail, to ensure that the requirements are met. What do we want to know about you?
• Enrolled in Engineering or Science Degree
• Knowledge is mechanical systems design, electrical systems design and programming.
• Basic Understanding of pneumatic systems (valves, solenoids, cylinders, fittings, etc)
• Basic PLC, Python, VB, C, C++, SQL Programming experience.
• Solidworks and 3D printing Experience
• Basic Experience with PCB design and troubleshooting
• Ability to effectively interact with peers, internal stakeholders, vendors and service providers.
• Effective two-way communication skills, including verbal as well as written forms
