We are looking to add an experienced Patent Agent to join the Ottawa team with focus in the areas of patent drafting, filing and prosecution.

Principal responsibilities

Marks & Clerk believes in looking at an entire business portfolio from an IP perspective and likes to take a collaborative approach with clients. Specific responsibilities are :

• Ensuring that patentable inventions are recognized and protected.
• Advising clients and securing appropriate IP protection and preparing and filing patent applications.
• Conducting IP audits and due diligence for investors in intellectual property and businesses with IP assets.
• Arranging validity and infringement reviews and patent watch services.
• Prosecuting patent applications through to grant.
• Drafting arguments to advocate clients’ positions, with reference to case law.
