Seasonal Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Assistant

The Municipal District of Lesser Slave River is seeking Seasonal GIS Assistants to commence in May and terminate in September 2026. This position works out of our Slave Lake location.

Work is to be completed in an efficient and accurate manner with emphasis on independent work habits and self-motivated initiative to learn and excel in all aspects of data and asset management process.

Responsibilities

• Collecting asset data in the field using ArcGIS Field Maps or Surveying devices
• Exporting or downloading data collected in appropriate GIS files
• Provide input and feedback on data collection process
• Assist with the asset management program
• Research and evaluate the GIS hardware and software systems
• Provide technical support to lead hand in another municipal department
• Map design and production based on requirement outlined by the end user

Qualifications

Salary Range : $22.65 - $29.82 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience.
