Buyer / Supply Chain Specialist

Key Responsibilities :
The Logistics Analyst will assume a pivotal role in planning and optimizing transportation and freight operations across Canada and the US, for raw materials, inter-farm transfers, and finished goods to customers.
The experience with and understanding of Canadian and Northern US freight lanes and solving logistical challenges will prove crucial to the success of the business.
Primary responsibilities include :
- Proactively manage and negotiate freight rates, requirements and schedule all inbound and outbound freight routes throughout North America to ensure loads adhere to scheduled delivery windows and always remain within critical temps while in transit
- Work closely with carriers, suppliers, customers and internal teams to optimize freight movements nationally, which may include coordinating third-party warehousing suppliers and / or brokers
- Analyze freight and transportation data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve delivery performance
- Support the development of logistics strategies for both inbound and outbound transportation
- Monitor and forecast transportation capacity needs in coordination with production and sales
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies across all provinces and arrange custom clearance.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track KPIs, freight spend, and service metrics
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Procurement, and Customer Service
- Follow and uphold Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP) for food and physical health and safety
- Other responsibilities as assigned
What You Bring :
College or bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).5+ years experience in logistics, supply chain analysis, and transportation managementStrong demonstrated knowledge of Canadian freight networks and national transportation lanesProficient in Excel, data visualization tools, and ERP / TMS systemsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners in both written and oral English (required) and French (preferred)Excellent problem-solving skills including analysis of information, develop recommendations to effectively resolve issues and implement solutions in a fast-paced environment.Strong customer service focus and skillsMust have a positive attitude, with a focus on teamwork and rapid problem resolution.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to change, and with little or no supervision.Must be able to work in office and on weekends when required.“AI may be used to screen, assess or select applicants for this position”.
